A 5-Day course offering a comprehensive and interactive learning experience.

If you are a health care professional who treats or manages patients with spinal cord injury at any stage throughout the life span, then this course will enhance your ability to provide evidence-based practice through skill and knowledge development. Learn to provide a multi-disciplinary approach to the management of the patient with a spinal cord injury, from the time of injury across the acute, rehabilitation and community reintegration phases.

The course aims to provide practical and theoretical knowledge which is relevant to everyday practice.

Evidence-based and clinically relevant presentations will be given by a variety of clinical experts. There will also be a number of guest speakers from outside the Northern Sydney Local Health District, each well-versed, and with practical experience in their field of expertise.

Resources
Pre-reading and course information will be provided electronically upon receipt of payment. Experts will be asked whether they consent to the distribution of electronic copies of their presentations to participants.

Tour
Tour of RNSH Acute Spinal Unit, therapy areas and Spinal resort, Sargood on Collaroy. There will also be an optional Social Evening at the Collaroy Hotel on Wednesday.

Located in the NSW, Ministry of Health Building, 1 Reserve Road, St Leonards.

  • Paid parking is available in the multi-storey car park located on campus.

  • St Leonards train station is located within easy walking distance of the venue. Buses also regularly stop at the central bus stop located on campus.

  • Accommodation options in close vicinity of the conference venue include:

    Comfort Inn, Urban Hotel, Greenwich Inn, Quest, Hotel St Leonards

Lunch and morning tea will be provided each day.
